My name isn’t pronounced the way it’s spelled. It’s more like [eye-lean]. In middle school, I used to somewhat be bullied about it and people would point to their eye then lean and just laugh. So during that time, I hated it. But then I just took it and went along with it, which turned out to be the best way I could help people say my name. In high school, I had a friend who was a grade higher than me and whenever I passed by him, he would always go “which way are we leaning?” and different days we would go either right or left. So I guess it just stuck since then.
